65th Independence Day!
Sounds BIG yeah!
This one was a bit different for me..
I could really sense the feeling of freedom, some patriotism.. It felt great!
Why not share with you a small poem first, that touched my heart -
Isn't it just so simple and yet so powerful!
A free creature, so colorful bringing smile to everyone's face :)
Sounds BIG yeah!
This one was a bit different for me..
I could really sense the feeling of freedom, some patriotism.. It felt great!
Why not share with you a small poem first, that touched my heart -
“I’ve watched you now a full half-hour;
Self-poised upon that yellow flower
And, little Butterfly! Indeed
I know not if you sleep or feed.
How motionless! – not frozen seas
More motionless! and then
What joy awaits you, when the breeze
Hath found you out among the trees,
And calls you forth again!
I ask to be free, like a butterfly”
-William Wordsworth
Isn't it just so simple and yet so powerful!
Well I fell in love with it the first time I read it.
So, yes I was talking about Independence Day! We had a Kite decoration competition in our office, my first job!
And yes, I chose this theme, as simple as it is and as deep as it can get! I enjoyed a lot, felt patriotism in my heart while creating the theme or explaining it to the judges. It was just simply amazing..
This Independence, Be a Butterfly!
A free creature, so colorful bringing smile to everyone's face :)
And yeah, this was done on 14th August! And then this question comes to my mind -
Are we celebrating Pakistan's Independence Day?
I always keep wondering this that why do we always celebrate our Independence Day on 14th and then just sit snooze off at home on 15th!
Then I got a witty answer which made me ponder a lot -
We are very happy that Pakistan got independence (got separated) , that's why we celebrate it!
Is it??
Was Pakistan's separation so important for India's Independence?
If we are so dependent, then how are we independent?!
Anyways... back to my independence spirit ;)
So, 15th Aug, I went for 'Ek Tha Tiger'. I was expecting the normal Salman Khan drama, but it was something different!
It was a masala movie but it gave a clear and sweet message.
It provoked all of us to think again, why are we still fighting!
Are we actually 2 independent countries? If yes, how can we be so dependent on each other?
Well, it was a good act and not with all those melodramas and still could deliver a strong message!
I don't know what was the reason -the poem / the butterfly/ the movie... or whatever!
But I am feeling as if I actually celebrated Independence Day and I am feeling happy about it!
P.S. I had great food ;)
